Jotun Penguard Express MIO High Build Epoxy Primer

Jotun Penguard Express MIO is a two pack high build fast drying micaceous iron oxide epoxy primer with high solids. It is specially designed for new construction where short dry to handle and overcoating times are required. It can be used as a primer and intermediate coat in atmospheric environments on steel, concrete, aluminium and galvanised steel. It is suitable for use as a primer or intermediate coat in aggresive C5M Coastal and C4 Industrial environments, It is  recommended for offshore locations, refineries, petrochemical and industrial facilities. The lamina nature of the MIO pigments improves water resistance and extends the maximum overcoating times. It is available in a grey matt finish for free delivery throughout the UK.

Surface Preparation.

Carbon Steel: Minimum St 2 , Recommended Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5. (ISO 8501-1)

Galvanised Steel: As a minimum the surface shall be clean dry and have a rough dull profile. It is recommended to lightly sweep blast using non metallic abrasives leaving a clean, rough dull surface.

Jotun Penguard Express MIO is a fast drying high build two pack amine cured epoxy primer designed for new construction where fast dry to handle and overcoating times are required. Penguard Express MIO is suitable for use on steel to be exposed to highly corrosive C5M environments. It can be applied by Airless spray, Conventional spray or brush and can be applied at sub zero temperatures. It is prequalified in accordance with Norsok M501 System 1. Jotun Penguard Express MIO is resistant to continuous temperatures of up to 120°C

Penguard Express MIO is a two pack epoxy matt suitable for use in atmospheric environments as a primer or intermediate coat in a multicoat system. It can be applied direct to carbon steel, galvanised steel, aluminium and concrete surfaces. It is recommended for offshore environments, structural steel, power plants, building products, construction and steel bridges. It can be applied up to 250 microns in a single coat by airless spray, two coats may be required to achieve the recommended DFT by brush or roller.
