Jotun Penguard Express is a two pack fast drying high solids high build epoxy primer intermediate. It is specially designed for new construction where short dry to handle and overcoating times are required. It can be used as a primer and intermediate coat in atmospheric environments on steel, concrete, aluminium and galvanised steel. It is suitable for use as a primer or intermediate coat in aggresive C5M coastal environments and C4 Industrial. Recommended for offshore locations, bridges, buildings and mining equipment. It is prequalified for use in Norsok M-501 Rev 5, system 1 and is fire certified for use as an anticorrosion primer for Intumescent Steelmaster systems. Penguard Express ZP with zinc phosphate anticorrosive pigments is available as an anticorrosion primer and a micaceous iron oxide is also available. Available from stock in a range of colours in 5lt and 20lt packs for free delivery thoughout the UK.

Surface Preparation.
Carbon Steel: Minimum St 2 , Recommended Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5. (ISO 8501-1)
Galvanised Steel: As a minimum the surface shall be clean dry and have a rough dull profile. It is recommended to lightly sweep blast using non metallic abrasives leaving a clean, rough dull surface.
Coated Surfaces: Ensure the existing coat is intact, compatible, dry and free from oil grease and other contaminants.

Jotun Penguard Express is a fast drying high build two pack, amine cured epoxy primer designed for new construction where fast dry to handle and overcoating times are required. It is suitable for use on steel to be exposed to highly corrosive C5M coastal and C4 Industrial environments. It can be applied by Airless spray, Conventional spray or brush and can be applied at sub zero temperatures.
Penguard Express is prequalified in accordance with Norsok M501 System 1. It is fire approved as a primer under Steelmaster Intumescent paints, resistant to continuous operating temperatures of up to 120°C and a peak of 140c.
Penguard Express Epoxy Primer is a two pack epoxy matt suitable for use in atmospheric environments as a primer or intermediate coat in a multicoat system. It can be applied direct to carbon steel, galvanised steel, aluminium and concrete surfaces. It is recommended for offshore environments, structural steel, power plants, building products, construction and steel bridges. It can be applied up to 250 microns in a single coat by airless spray, two coats may be required to achieve the recommended DFT by brush or roller.
