Jotun Penguard HB Marine Epoxy Underwater Primer

Penguard HB a high build fast drying two pack Epoxy Primer for Multi surfaces including Metals and Plastics. Suitable for use underwater as a Marine Primer. Penguard HB is a high build two pack epoxy primer which can be applied to a range of surfaces including steel, aluminium, concrete, GRP and building plastics. It can be used in exposed or immersed conditions.Ideal as a primer on boats, marine infrastructure, GRP building products and industrial fabrications. It may also be applied direct to galvanized steel.Penguard HB is a high build epoxy, up to 150 microns may be applied in a single coat by airless spray. It is as high molecular weight epoxy exhibiting excellent durability, water and corrosion resistance. It is certified for use with potable water and certified not to spread surface flames.Suitable as a primer on a range of surfaces as part of a multicoat system for aggressive C5-M Marine and Heavy Industrial C4 environments. It can be overcoated with Hardtop Polyurethanes in exposed environments for long term colour and protection. Below the waterline on marine applications it can be overcoated with Vinyguard Silvergrey 88 as a tiecoat and Seaforce antifoulings. It is available from stock in a white, grey and red matt finish for free
delivery throughout the UK in 5lt and 20lt packs.

Penguard HB is a two pack, high build, high molecular weight epoxy primer suitable for multisurfaces. It can be applied by Airless spray, Conventional spray or brush.

Penguard HB Primer may be used in tanks for potable water. It is certified not to spread surface flames and may be used as a primer in an Intumescent paint system. It is resistant to continuous temperatures of up to 120°C.

This is a two pack epoxy matt suitable for use in atmospheric and immersed environments as a primer or intermediate coat in a multicoat system. It can be applied direct to carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, zinc metal spray, GRP, concrete and shop primed steel.

It is surface dry in 2.5 hours and can be overcoated in 8 hours at 23c. For overcoating with antifouling paints use Vinyguard Silvergrey 88 as a tiecoat, above the waterline Penguard HB can be overcoated with any of the Hardtop two pack polyurethane finishes.

Penguard HB Primer is recommended for offshore environments, marine hulls and topside, superstructures, containers, structural steel, building products, construction and agricultural equipment. It can be applied up to 150 microns in a single coat by airless spray, two coats may be required to achieve the recommended DFT by brush.

It is available from stock in a white, grey and red matt finish in 5lt and 20lt packs for free delivery throughout the UK.
A large selection of topcoats are available for a wide range of applications. Hardtop Flexi is recommended as a one coat primer finish for Direct to Metal applications. Hardtop HB matt finishes are ideal for Architectural and Commercial buildings. Hardtop AX is an alternative high gloss finish when fast drying properties are critical for productivity or speed of handing on commercial equipment. Hardtop CA is recommended to reduce the risks to health and safety when applying gloss polyurethanes by spray application.
