Jotun Penguard Tie Coat 100 Two Pack Epoxy

Jotun Penguard Tie Coat 100 a two pack fast drying epoxy primer tiecoat and sealer for thermally sprayed metal surfaces.
It seals and provides excellent adhesion to thermally sprayed metal surfaces and inorganic zinc silicate primers. Specially designed as a tie coat sealer on top of inorganic zinc silicate primers, galvanised steel and thermally sprayed zinc. It penetrates the porosity in these primers to reduce out gassing and provide excellent adhesion od the subsequent paint system. It is fast drying and overcoating.
Penguard Tiecoat is prequalified for use in Norsok M-501 System 1 and has been certified for Low Flame Spread. It is heat resistant at a continuous operating temperature of 120c and a peak at 140c. Suitable for structural steel and piping exposed to highly corrosive environments. Recommended for offshore environments, refineries, power plants, bridges and mining equipment. Available from stock in a red matt finish in 20lt packs for free delivery throughout the UK.

Jotun Penguard Tie Coat 100 is a two pack, thin film , corrosion preventing polyamide cured epoxy tiecoat. It can be applied by Airless spray, Conventional spray or brush. Penguard Tiecoat may be used as a tiecoat sealer on top of inorganic zinc silicates, galvanised steel or thermally sprayed zinc metals. It may also be used as a tie coat over Zinga. It penetrates the porosity in these primers to reduce out gassing and provide excellent adhesion od the subsequent paint system. It is fast drying and overcoating.

Penguard Tiecoat 100 is a two pack epoxy semigloss suitable for use in atmospheric environments as a primer or tiecoat in a multicoat system. It can be applied direct to carbon steel, galvanised steel, zinc and aluminium metal spray. Penguard Tiecoat 100 Epoxy Primer is recommended for offshore environments, railway infrastructure,  structural steel , highways and construction. It can be applied up to 50 microns in a single coat by airless spray, two coats may be required to achieve the recommended DFT by roller. Brush application is only recommended for stripe coating and small areas.

It is a thin film fast drying epoxy primer which is surface dry in 1 hour and can be overcoated in 6 hours. It can be overcoated directly with both two pack epoxy intermediates or with two pack polyurethanes from the Hardtop range. It is available from stock in a red semigloss finish in 20lt packs for free delivery throughout the UK.
