RD Coatings Elastoflex Anti Carbonation Coating RAL & NCS

Elastoflex has superb elasticity and waterproofing properties, it is easy to apply without the need for abrasive blast cleaning. It is a fast-drying water based elastomeric coating which allows the substrate to breathe and has CE class 2 certification. It is recommended as a waterproof coating for concrete and brick to prevent the penetration of moisture and carbon dioxide, blocking the acceleration of corrosion of the steel reinforcement within the concrete. Elastoflex is a fast-drying single pack waterbased pure acrylic waterproofing primer finish for walls and concrete facades. It has extremely high elasticity >600% over a broad temperature range (-30c to 80c) and has very good water vapour permeability to allow the surface to breathe. It is exterior durable on new and old masonry, with excellent resistance to dirt pick up. It can be applied by Airless spray, brush or roller on masonry, concrete and brick. Two coats are recommended on walls in coastal and harsh environments.  Elastoflex is a single pack primer finish, a cost-effective solution for the renovation of walls and concrete facades, protecting against the ingress of chlorides, carbonation and rusting of steel reinforcement It can be applied up to 350 microns in a single coat by airless spray, two coats may be required to achieve the recommended DFT by brush or roller. Surface Preparation

The surface must be clean, degreased, and free of surface contamination. High pressure water blasting is recommended at 2600 psi to remove surface contaminants and loosely adhering paint. Eco Powerclean a powerful biodegradable alkaline concentrate composed of anti-flash rust additives for cleaning and preparing surfaces is recommended before painting. When high pressure water blasting up to 5% Eco Powerclean can be added to clean water to improve degreasing and temporarily protect any metal surfaces on the building from flash rusting. After application the surface should be left for 2 to 3 minutes for it to react with the metal. At 5% dilution usage is 100m2 per litre. Allow to dry before applying Elastoflex by airless spray, two coats at 155 microns is required, approximately 0.35kg/m2. If spraying is not practical, it can be applied by roller although you will need to apply more coats to achieve the minimum thickness required. For airless spray use a pressure of at least 2600 psi. For bridging large concrete cracks, it will be necessary to use a fleece to reinforce the higher film build required. Allow 24 hours between coats. It is exterior durable without the need for abrasive blast cleaning on new and old masonry, with excellent resistance to dirt pick up. It can be applied by Airless spray, brush or roller on masonry,concrete and brick. Two  coats are recommended on walls in aggressive environments. It has CE class 2 certification and has a life expectancy in excess of 20 years.
