Surface Preparation.
Carbon Steel: Minimum St 2 , Recommended High Pressure Water Jetting.
Coated Surfaces: Ensure the existing coat is intact, compatible, dry and free from oil grease and other contaminants.
Galvanised Steel: As a minimum the surface shall be clean dry and have a rough dull profile. It is recommended to lightly sweep blast using non metallic abrasives leaving a clean, rough dull surface

Elastometal Waterproofing Roof Paint has excellent elasticity (200%) and anticorrosion properties, it is easy to apply without the need for abrasive blast cleaning. This is a Fast Drying water based coating and recommended as a maintenance roof coating for steel, cast iron, CorTen steel, weathered galvanised steel, aluminium, and plastisol coil coated sheets. Elastometal Roof Paint is a fast drying single pack water based anticorrosion and waterproofing primer finish for the restoration of metal roofs. It is suitable for harsh industrial and C5 marine environments, with a life expectancy of over 15 years. The elasticity is >200% preventing film defects on roofing subject to broad and frequent temperature changes. It is exterior durable without the need for abrasive blast cleaning on roofing and cladding. It can be applied by Airless spray, brush or roller on all types of substrates. Two coats are recommended on cast iron, steel and old galvanised roofs.
This product is a single pack primer finish a cost effective solution for the renovation of metal roofing and cladding. It may be applied to CorTen steel, cast iron, aluminium, weathered galvanised steel sheets, plastisol and polyester powder coated sheet. It is a cost effective solution when renovating warehouses, factories, roofing and cladding. It can be applied in thick layers by airless spray, two coats of 175 microns dry film thickness each are required to achieve a long lasting protection.
Elastometal is a Dry Fall coating any overspray can be easily removed after spraying reducing clean up time. It is water based, easy to handle, safe and has no fire risks. It is a fast drying system that greatly reduces downtime during installation. Virtually odour free, it does not affect neighbouring occupants and can be used in occupied buildings.
Roof Fleece may be used to protect corroded steel and weak points between joints and roof stacks. Simply cut and place the fleece in the areas requiring additional protection and brush Elastometal through the weave to encapsulate it. When dry apply two full coats of the product. It is an ideal solution for roofs at risk of stagnating water and ponding corrosion.
Elastometal Waterproofing Roof Paint is ready for use and no additional primers are required. When applying by airless spray or in warm weather conditions up to 3% water may be added. It is touch dry in 3 hours and recoatable in 6 hours. All tools and equipment may be cleaned after use using water.
