Metal Unicoat High Build Waterbased Metal Cladding Paint
Metal Unicoat has excellent colour retention and exterior durability for metal cladding & facades, plastisol coated sheets and previously painted surfaces without the need for abrasive blast cleaning. It is environmentally compliant with low VOCs, no fire risks and low odour. It can be applied in occupied buildings with the minimum disruption to business activities. It is recommended as a primer finish for metal cladding, weathered galvanised steel, plastisol, pvdf, powder coated sheets on warehouses, retail, and commercial buildings. Metal Unicoat is a fast-drying single pack waterbased coating with good exterior durability in a 15% matt finish. It can be used when abrasive blast cleaning is not practical or economically viable, applied by Airless spray, brush, or roller on all types of metal cladding. A single coat is recommended over previously painted surfaces for refreshing and rebranding of building structures, two coats are recommended for long term corrosion protection on exposed steel cladding. Touch dry in 2hours and can be overcoated in 4 hours. Available in an extensive range of RAL and NCS colours in large and small containers.

Surface Preparation
The surface to be coated must be clean, degreased, and free of surface contamination.
High pressure water blasting is recommended to remove surface contaminants, loosely adhering paint and rust.
Eco Powerclean a powerful biodegradable alkaline concentrate composed of anti flash rust additives for cleaning and preparing surfaces is recommended before painting. When high pressure water blasting up to 5% Eco Powerclean can be added to clean water to improve degreasing and temporarily protect the surface from flash rusting. After application the surface should be left for 2 to 3 minutes for it to react with the metal. It will significantly improve the corrosion protection on exposed metal surfaces and reduce cleaning times. At 5% dilution usage is 100m2 per litre.
Allow to dry before applying two coats of Metal Unicoat. Cleaning by mechanical or power tools is advised when more detailed surface preparation needs to be done, such as chimneys, access ladders and bolts that could be heavily rusted.
Metal Unicoat can be applied by brush on specific localised areas and by airless spray on the main surface.

It is a cost effective solution when renovating commercial buildings, factories, roofing , warehouses and distribution centres. It has high volume solids compared to most cladding paints and can be applied up to 70 microns in a single coat by airless spray, two coats may be required to achieve the recommended DFT by brush or roller. It is touch dry in two hours and can be overcoated in four hours for rapid maintenance.It is resistant to continuous operating temperatures of up to 80°C
