Teamac Protector II an Effective Economic Antifouling suitable for Boats and Yachts cruising at 30 Knots.

Protector II Antifouling is an effective economical, eroding antifouling paint thhat offers a combination of good compatibility and competitive performance. It is designed for vessels with a max speed of 25 to 30 knots. Based on copper oxide, Protector II Antifouling is suitable for use in all but the most challenging fouling areas. In such areas Teamac Antifouling D Plus is recommended in freshwater and A Plus specifically for use on Aluminium hulls. The expected functional life of Protector II  is 12 to 18 months.

This coating is used as an antifouling for the underwater areas of vessels or underwater structures. It is suitable for domestic and commercial vessels with steel, wood, ferro, concrete or GRP hulls.

Before applying this product you should always apply at least 2 coats of Teamac Metaclor Antifouling Primer, if you are applying a subsequent coat then you should only use Protector II.

During the application care must be taken, it is recommended that the temperature is above the dew point to avoid any contamination.

This product is available in 2.5lt and 5lt pack sizes in black, blue and red for free delivery throughout the UK to your home, workshop or boatyard.

Description

Teamac Protector II Antifouling contains cuprous oxide to give good antifouling performance. It is designed for vessels with a max speed of 25 to 30 knots. The expected functional life of the coating is 12 to 18 months.

Teamac Protector II Antifouling is used as an antifouling for the underwater areas of vessels or underwater structures. It is suitable for domestic and commercial vessels with steel, wood, ferro, concrete or GRP hulls.

This coating can be applied by a brush, roller, conventional or airless spray with a minimum overcoating time of 16 hours depending on the film thickness. The recommended wet film thickness is 100 microns to achieve a dry film thickness of 63 microns. The theoretical coverage rate by following these recommendations is 10 sq.m per litre, please allow appropriate loss factors when calculating your actual requirements. Protector II will be touch dry in 3 hours at a temperature of 20°C.

Before applying the product you should make sure that the surface is properly prepared for painting. Prior to the application of the full coat ensure that the surface is clean and free of all contaminants.

For new steel you should abrasive blast clean to Sa2½ and apply Teamac Metaclor Antifouling Primer. 

If you are applying  onto shop-primed steel you should ensure that the surface is dry and clean, and areas of damaged primer are suitably cleaned prior to the application of the Metaclor. 

For maintenance, remove all loose and damaged existing coatings and marine growth. High pressure wash with fresh water. Areas of breakdown should be blasted or power tool cleaned. Touch up with Metaclor Antifouling Primer to the full existing film thickness.

Shop-Primed Steel: Ensure that the surface is dry and clean, and areas of damaged primer are suitably cleaned prior to the application of the Metaclor.
